What AI apps can do in Settings → MCP Server shows one row per area of your institute. Each row has a level: Areas that have nothing to change only offer Off and View.
Words used in the MCP docs
  • Area: one row in What AI apps can do, such as Website or CRM: Leads.
  • Level: Off, View or Edit, set per area.
  • Edit (or edit switch): one change an area offers, with its own switch inside the open row.
  • Turned on separately: the settings page’s badge for edits that no level or shortcut switches on. We also say opt-in.
  • Admin portal: your institute’s own admin site, where Settings → MCP Server lives.

Open a row to see the details

Click a row’s name to open it. Inside you see:
  • what View shows, in one sentence;
  • each change the area offers, with a risk badge such as Drafts only or Changes live;
  • a switch per change, when the area has more than one.
Choosing Edit turns on the area’s edits except the ones marked Turned on separately (opt-in). Those stay off until you switch them on in the open row. See Edits turned on separately. If every change in an area is turned on separately (for example Learners), choosing Edit opens the row so you can pick the ones you want.

The two shortcuts

At the top of the list:
  • View only sets every area to View and turns every change off, including the ones turned on separately.
  • Turn everything on sets every area to Edit with all its changes, except the ones turned on separately. Those keep whatever state they had.
The line next to them counts how many areas are on and how many can make changes.

The areas

Who is connected

Always on. Not a setting. The AI app can read the connected person’s name and contact details, and your institute’s name, logo and theme. It reveals nothing beyond the person’s own identity. Try: “Who am I connected as?”

Institute stats

View: your institute’s profile (name, logo, theme, terminology), outstanding fees, classes live right now and active learner counts. Try: “How many active learners do we have, and what fees are outstanding?”

Website

View: your websites, their pages and what each section shows, site traffic, lead-capture health, pre-publish checks, and the questions an AI asks before building a site. Try: “Audit our home page and list what to fix before we publish.”

Lead forms

View: your lead campaigns, their form fields, where each form is used on your websites, and the leads received. Try: “Which lead campaigns got the most leads this week?”

Automations

View: your automations (workflows), each one’s trigger or schedule, its steps, recent runs and their results, and the message templates an automation can use. Try: “Draft an automation that sends a WhatsApp reminder one day before each live class.”

Blog

View: your blog posts, drafts and published, their text and SEO fields, and which website pages show them.

Courses

View: courses with their chapters and slides, slide content, drip rules, invite links and prices, and a quality check before a course is submitted. Try: “Outline a 6-chapter beginner course on spoken English and save it as a draft.”

Learners

View: find learners by name, email or phone, and see their profile, their courses, each course’s invites and the bulk-enrol CSV template. Try: “Find the learner with phone ending 4321 and show their courses.”

Progress reports

View: the data behind a learner’s progress report (attendance, test scores, study time, course progress, assignments and doubts) and reports already generated, so the AI app can write the report for you. Read-only. Try: “Write a one-page progress report for Aarav for this term.”

CRM areas

The CRM areas bring your leads, calls, meetings and messages to the AI app. They show in Settings → MCP Server for every institute, but the AI app gets CRM tools only when your plan includes the CRM. Without it, the tools do not appear (or answer module_not_enabled if called). They follow the same Off / View / Edit model, with three extra rules:
  • Every CRM change is turned on separately. Choosing Edit on a CRM area turns nothing on by itself. You switch on each change.
  • Each person sees the leads their admin portal shows them. A counsellor sees their own leads, or their team’s if they manage one. An admin sees the whole institute. Some actions are for admins only.
  • Bigger changes are previewed first. Notes, logged calls and follow-ups apply straight away. Status changes made as an edit are previewed; a status logged with a call applies at once unless it starts an automation, in which case that part is previewed. Assignments, bulk changes, calls, messages and bookings show a preview first and wait for your “yes” in the chat. Calls and messages need a fresh confirmation each time, and each confirmation works once.
Every tool’s actions and parameters are listed in the tool reference.
CRM data includes names, phone numbers, notes and call transcripts. Whatever the AI app reads is sent to that app’s provider. Turn CRM areas on only for roles that need them, and ask staff to use their company AI account. See Security.
